West Indies vs England prediction

After a difficult spell as England's white-ball captain, Jos Buttler has enjoyed a successful return to action in the T20 series against the West Indies.

Last year's dismal ODI World Cup title defence was followed by June's patchy T20 World Cup campaign in the West Indies, where England were well beaten by champions India in the semi-finals.

Back in the Caribbean, Buttler's men have taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in their five-match series over the Windies, who have lost six of their last seven T20 games against England.

The tourists eased to targets of 183 and 159 in the first two matches in Barbados but Thursday's game in St Lucia, which also stages the fourth and fifth T20s, produced a low-scoring three-wicket victory for England.

Fast bowler Saqib Mahmood continued his impressive tour for England, dismissing Evin Lewis, Roston Chase and Shimron Hetmyer inside the first six overs.

But the West Indies also made early inroads as spinner Akeal Hosein got rid of Phil Salt and Buttler, England's batting heroes in the first two T20s, for a combined total of eight runs.

The left-armer ended up with figures of 4-22 from four overs and he is a tempting price to take two or more wickets at the Daren Sammy National Stadium.

Hosein dismissed the in-form Salt for a first-ball duck in the second T20 and he has a fine record against England in the format, claiming 21 wickets in 15 appearances at a strike-rate of one every 16.2 deliveries.

If the trend for early wickets continues in Gros Islet then Liam Livingstone may be required to come to England's aid again.

He has batted superbly on this tour, top-scoring with 48 and 124 not out in the first two ODIs. Livingstone sealed the chase in the second T20 with 23 not out off 11 balls and made a vital 39 – eclipsed only by Sam Curran's 41 – in Thursday's victory.
