Wednesday's Women's T20 World Cup predictions
South Africa reached the final of the 2023 T20 World Cup, losing to a dominant Australia side, and they remain on course to make the semis at this year's tournament in the UAE.
They gave England a decent game in a seven-wicket defeat on Monday, when Heather Knight's side reached a trappy target of 125 with just four balls to spare.
South Africa had started their Group B campaign with a thumping win over the West Indies and they should outclass Scotland, who have been well beaten by Bangladesh and the Windies in their first two games.
The Scots crawled to 99-8 from their 20 overs against the West Indies on Sunday and can expect little respite when they face South Africa's star all-rounder Marizanne Kapp.
She has been superb with the new ball, claiming 2-14 in four overs against the Windies and taking 1-5 from her first three against England in Sharjah.
Kapp also cracked 26 off 17 balls on Monday, having scored 207 runs and taken 11 wickets in nine matches for Oval Invincibles in The Hundred this summer, and she looks a big runner in the player-of-the-match market.
Sri Lanka beat India by eight wickets in July's Asia Cup final in Dambulla but they are 5-1 to frank that form at the T20 World Cup.
Those inflated odds reflect Sri Lanka's recent struggles with the bat more than any invincibility on India's part.
The Indians eased past Pakistan last time out but they suffered a shock 58-run defeat to New Zealand in their Group A opener so they need to boost their net run-rate with a comprehensive victory over the Lankans.
New Zealand's Sophie Devine slammed 57 not out off just 36 deliveries before India were bowled out for 102 in Dubai and Sri Lanka chased down 166 to beat them in the Asia Cup final.
At this tournament, though, the Lankans have stumbled to 85-9 in pursuit of 117 against Pakistan before being restricted to 93-7 in Saturday's defeat to Australia.
Nilakshika Silva is one of their few in-form batters, scoring 30 in a warm-up game against Bangladesh and making 22 and 29 not out in the two group defeats, and she is an eye-catching price to top-score in the middle-order.
