Match verdict

Sri Lanka won the teams' ODI series 3-0 but Shai Hope continues to impress on nearly every occasion and he is worth backing to top score for the Windies in this first T20 in Pallekele.

The West Indies' keeper-bat hit 115, 51 and 72 as an opener in those three defeats and while he may slip down the order a little bit, it won't be too far because his accumulation-technique is as much timed strokeplay as all-out big hitting.

Hope made 52 of 46 balls to top score for the Windies in his last T20 against Afghanistan in Lucknow and four of his other six shortest-format knocks in Asia have been 23 or more, including a 55 against Bangladesh in Sylhet.

Match verdict

Tabraiz Shamsi took two wickets in South Africa's 74-run first ODI win over Australia and the slow-left armer can claim multiple victims again in game two of the series in Bloemfontein.

Twirlers have enjoyed the pitches in the last two Free-State day-nighters and Shamsi bagged three in one of last month's 50-over games against England.

Twenty points are awarded by bet365 in their performance market for each wicket taken while ten points are gained for a catch and one for each run scored.
