Pakistan vs India prediction

Champions Trophy hosts Pakistan started their campaign with a 60-run defeat to New Zealand in Karachi and they have travelled to the UAE to face rivals India in their second game.

India will not play any of their matches in Pakistan, opting instead to base themselves in Dubai, where Rohit Sharma's men eased past Bangladesh by six wickets on Thursday.

India reduced the Tigers to 35-5 on a tricky pitch before Shubman Gill anchored the run-chase, finishing unbeaten on 101 off 129 balls.

Batsmen may struggle to cut loose in Sunday's game at the same venue and India spinner Ravindra Jadeja is worth backing to pick up at least two wickets.

The left-armer failed to strike against Bangladesh but conceded only two boundaries in his nine overs, having warmed up for this tournament by taking 3-26 and 3-35 in two ODI appearances against England in Nagpur and Cuttack.

Pakistan are under pressure after their defeat to New Zealand, in which opener Fakhar Zaman suffered a tournament-ending injury.

He has been replaced in the squad by Imam-ul-Haq but middle-order man Salman Agha looks the best bet to top-score for Pakistan.

He has made at least 30 in his last eight ODI innings, scoring 82 not out against South Africa in Paarl in December and 134 against the Proteas in Karachi last week.
