India vs England prediction

England traded at a short price to level this T20 series with India when 62-0 after 5.5 overs in their pursuit of 182 in Pune on Friday, but a typical batting collapse saw the hosts prevail by 15 runs to take an unassailable 3-1 lead.

With nothing at stake at the Wankhede Stadium, where it is a pretty flat track renowned for big scores, spectators could be in for a treat.

Of the last ten teams to bat first at the venue, five have passed the 200-run mark, and with plenty of explosive batting power on show, that trend could go on.

As is regularly the case, winning the toss could be key as chasing teams have an excellent record in Mumbai and that means the side batting first will know they have to get off to a flying start.

India have already used 16 players in the first four games so changes are expected while England will be desperate to claim some compensation after making a mess of what looked an extremely winnable affair last time out.

Therefore, going over 191.5 first-innings runs could reap rewards and backing opener Ben Duckett to do the brunt of England’s damage makes plenty of appeal too.

Duckett will have been fuming with himself that wicket was the first to fall for England on Friday, having done so well to get to 39 off 19 balls, but it was further evidence that he is seeing the ball well.

That came after a score of 51 off 26 balls in England’s sole success in Rajkot on Tuesday and, having seemingly taken a liking to conditions there, he could be set for a fruitful end to proceedings in Mumbai.
