Birmingham Bears vs Gloucestershire prediction

Birmingham Bears suffered an agonising two-wicket defeat to Essex in last season's T20 Blast quarter-final at Edgbaston but they are expected to make amends against last-eight visitors Gloucestershire.

The Bears finished top of the North Group, winning ten of their 14 matches, and a quarter-final victory would book their place at Finals Day, which takes place at their Birmingham base on September 14.

Young Birmingham all-rounders Jacob Bethell and Dan Mousley are in England's squad for next week's T20 series against Australia and Moeen Ali, Alex Davies and Sam Hain also feature in a classy top order.

Gloucestershire hammered Glamorgan by 121 runs before a ten-run victory over Middlesex sealed fourth place in the South Group.

However, they will be wary of Bears spinner Danny Briggs, who topped the group-stage bowling chart with 27 wickets. The experienced left-armer took 3-24 against Derbyshire and 3-30 against Leicestershire in his last two Blast games at Edgbaston and could play a starring role again.
