Australia Women vs England Women prediction

England Women staged an impressive comeback to draw 8-8 with Australia Women in 2023's home Ashes series but Heather Knight's side are 7-1 to win the multi-format contest down under.

The Ashes rivals play three ODIs, three T20 internationals and a one-off Test in Melbourne and Australia are 1-6 to amass the most points over those seven matches. Another drawn series is an 8-1 chance with bet365.

In 2023, England lost the Test match before rallying to win both white-ball series and they will be desperate to make a strong start in the first ODI at North Sydney Oval.

Their chances were not helped by rain depriving their batters of any warm-up action this week but the experienced Nat Sciver-Brunt should be backed to be England's top runscorer in the ODIs.

She was the leading batter on either side in the 2021-22 Ashes ODI series in Australia and scored 148 not out against the Aussies in the 2022 World Cup final.

Sciver-Brunt made 128 and 37 in December's Test match in South Africa and she has a superb 50-over record against Australia, averaging 62.37 after 22 innings.

Annabel Sutherland signed off 2024 with ODI scores of 110 against India and 105 not out and 42 against New Zealand and the 23-year-old could play a huge role in the Ashes.

She merits her place in the team simply as a batter but is also an incisive seam bowler, taking 4-39 against India and 3-29 against New Zealand last month, and is a tempting 10-1 to be player of the match in the first ODI.
