Relikh not done for but Burns should be too hot

There should be a raucous atmosphere at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Friday night as Ricky Burns makes the first defence of his WBA world super lightweight title against undefeated challenger Kiryl Relikh.

Burns, Scotland’s first three-weight world champion, won the vacant belt by stopping Michele Di Rocco at tonight’s venue in May.

Belarusian Relikh, 26, has been described by his trainer Ricky Hatton as the “real deal”, and with an unblemished 21-0 record, with 19 wins coming by KO, there are reasons to suggest the Coatbridge warrior could be in for a tough night.
