Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano prediction

If a high-profile bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson is not one for boxing purists, the main support act in Texas definitely is.

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are two superstars of women's boxing and their first bout at the hallowed Madison Square Garden in 2022 is widely considered the best female fight in history.

Taylor, defending the undisputed lightweight titles, won the pair's first instalment in New York via split decision but the Irish star has contested only three fights since. One of those was a stunning defeat to Chantelle Cameron in May last year, the Bray Bomber's only professional loss, but she gained her revenge on the Englishwoman in a rematch six months later.

Serrano has been more active and has recorded five wins since her loss to Taylor and she is the marginal favourite in what should be an extremely close rematch.

Taylor's last great performance came against Serrano two years ago – she was arguably fortunate to get the decision in her second fight with Cameron – whereas the Real Deal has remained sharp in the intervening years and could make amends for her narrow New York defeat.

Taylor has never been stopped and seven of Serrano’s last eight bouts have gone the distance, so take the Puerto Rican to win on points.

Mario Barrios vs Abel Ramos predictions

Earlier on the card, WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios defends the belt for the first time as full champion against Abel Ramos, having been elevated by the governing body due to the expectation that Terence Crawford won't come back down to this class.

After back-to-back defeats to Gervonta Davis and Keith Thurman, Barrios has raised his levels and can record an early finish against Ramos, who arrives in poor form with three defeats in his last five.

Barrios isn’t exactly a stoppage specialist with 18 KOs in 29 wins and Ramos is a durable fighter, but this looks a bit of a mismatch and the favourite could make a statement in his first outing as outright champion.

Who is on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson undercard?

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson (heavyweight)

Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano II (for Taylor's undisputed women’s super-lightweight titles)

Mario Barrios vs Abel Ramos (for Barrios' WBC welterweight title)

Shadasia Green vs Melinda Watpool (women’s WBO super-middleweight title, vacant)

Lucas Bahdi vs Armando Casamonica (lightweight)

Bruce Carrington vs Dana Coolwell (featherweight)
