Johnny Fisher vs David Allen prediction

Johnny Fisher has made some big waves in the heavyweight division by putting together a 12-0 record with 11 stoppages and he faces a step up in class on the Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2 card with a bout against the experienced David Allen.

Allen made his debut in 2012 and brings a 23-6-2 record to the table. The 32-year-old has won six of his last seven fights but all of those victories have come against opponents with losing records and you have to go back to 2019 for his last good win, a third-round TKO against Lucas Browne.

However, the White Rhino is a two-time Commonwealth title challenger and has been in the ring with some great fighters over the years – notably in defeats to Luis Ortiz and Dillian Whyte – so he won’t make this easy for Fisher.

Fisher is a heavy odds-on favourite and justifiably so after winning three of his last four bouts in the first round but a quick finish looks less likely in this encounter. Allen has been stopped four times but he’s never been knocked out before the sixth round and he has the experience to make things awkward for Fisher, so the best angle here could be the length of the right and over 4.5 rounds looks a reasonable starting point.

Allen is tough, he battled on into the sixth round against the heavy handed Frazer Clarke in 2023 before retiring through injury and he can make the second half of this ten-round affair against the Romford Bull, but Fisher is a man in fine form and he can get the stoppage in the second half so backing him to win in rounds six to ten is the value play.
