Jake Paul’s next opponent: Conor McGregor among the favourites

Jake Paul next opponent odds

Jake Paul scored the biggest win of his 12-fight professional boxing career when beating Mike Tyson on points in Texas.

The Problem Child proved too young, energetic, and hungry for a boxing legend and former world heavyweight champion who is pushing 60 years old. It was an impressive performance for 27-year-old Paul, but fans now want to see him share a ring with a live opponent. They want to see Jake in a 50:50 contest.

Favourites to fight Jake Paul

Let's take a look at the contenders to fight Jake Paul next:

OpponentOdds
Jorge Masvidal5-1
Conor McGregor5-1
KSI6-1
Tommy Fury6-1
Saul Alvarez7-1

Jorge Masvidal

Madvidal and Jake Paul have been sizing each other up for a while now, and it’s a surprise they haven’t fought yet. If they were to cross paths in Jake’s next fight, possibly early in 2025, Paul’s boxing experience would make the difference.

Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor is another star of mixed martial arts and another potential opponent for Jake Paul. McGregor’s injury problems are well-documented and could keep him from returning to the octagon. But another professional boxing contest is much more likely. McGregor famously fought Floyd Mayweather and is a decent boxer. He’d have enough experience to box his way to an important win.

KSI

KSI is another name doing the rounds, but I don’t think that’s likely. Paul going from Tyson to KSI would be a disappointment for fans. If he wants to be taken seriously in boxing circles, he must focus on fighting decent opponents with a solid background in combat sports, preferably active boxers. Given his recent experience, Jake would make light work of KSI in a professional boxing ring.

Tommy Fury

Tommy Fury is the only man to defeat Jake Paul in a boxing ring, scoring a split decision win in Saudi Arabia earlier this year. Paul performed much better than expected, pushing Fury hard throughout their eight-round contest before the Englishman got the decision. It was close enough to merit a rematch, and it should be close again, but Fury’s boxing skills would be the deciding factor again.

Saul Alvarez

Saul Alvarez is a multi-weight world champion and pound-for-pound boxing legend. The hard-hitting Mexican loves to test himself against high-ranking opponents from a range of popular weight divisions. He’s been as high as light heavyweight, so Paul would have to come down a couple of divisions to fight Canelo, but it’s not advisable. Alvarez is a sublime boxer and an all-round tough guy. He’d take great pleasure in reminding Jake and his army of fans that you don’t play boxing.
