Big fight preview
A spider bite prevented Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker from stepping into the ring in 2019, but almost 20 months later they will bring the curtain down on an interesting card in Manchester on Saturday night with what should be an entertaining bout.
It's highly unlikely that we will see a tentative approach from these these two heavyweights, in particular Chisora, who is rarely in a dull fight.
We last saw him in the ring in October when he came up short against Oleksandr Usyk, but despite his age and the mileage on the clock, he is a game and gutsy fighter who will ensure this is no easy night for the odds-on favourite Parker.
That said, he struggled with Usyk's movement and although New Zealander Parker is not as technically gifted as the Ukrainian, he is a mobile fighter and will pose similar problems.
The lack of a crowd is a big factor. Chisora is a popular fighter who thrives on a lively atmosphere, so the lack of energy and noise in the arena won't help his cause.
Parker recently switched trainers and is now under the watchful and astute eye of Andy Lee, who is cousin to WBC champion Tyson Fury and was in his corner for the Deontay Wilder rematch last year.
Former WBO world champion Parker is rebuilding after back-to-back losses to Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte in 2018 and has won all four professional bouts since.
He is a skilful fighter and almost stopped Whyte at the end of that epic and entertaining contest. A similar fight is fancied to unfold this time but he must improve on his most recent performance against Junior Fa, which may have been what prompted the change of coach.
This is a fight Parker should come through if he has any aspirations of being a two-time world champion and one he should be backed to win on the judges' scorecards.
Undercard preview
Comfortable wins for the returning Chris Eubank Jr and the hard-hitting James Tennyson are expected on the undercard, but the most intriguing fight of the show is Katie Taylor's defence of her world lightweight titles against old foe Natasha Jonas.
Taylor puts her undisputed status on the line nine years after the two met at the London 2012 Olympics and she can extend her undefeated professional record to 18.
The Bray Bomber was victorious in that bout and she should have too much for her 36-year-old opponent again.
Both women are experienced fighters and this is a ten-round fight expected to go the distance.
