Callum Simpson vs Steed Woodall prediction

Callum Simpson defends his British and Commonwealth super-middleweight titles against Steed Woodall in Sheffield tonight and the South Yorkshire champion can justify being quoted at 1-6 to land a victory.

The 28-year-old impressed when dethroning Zak Chelli, who had previously looked good when beating the talented Jack Cullen, in Barnsley last summer.

That isn’t world-level form by any means, but it’s strong in the context of a clash with Woodall, and Simpson is an undefeated and unexposed 168lbs performer.

Woodall arrives after a career-best performance against Lerrone Richards last time out, but that stoppage success is an outlier compared to what the Stallion has been doing for much of his career.

The 30-year-old has previously been beaten and dropped by Padraig McCrory and was stopped by Steve Rolls back in 2015. Those defeats have come when the Stallion has stepped up in class and he is a 6-1 to land an upset.

Simpson is certainly a good domestic operator, with potential for more and the heavy-hitting Barnsley boxer looks a decent bet to score a stoppage success in Sheffield.
