Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois prediction

Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois meet at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night in an all-British heavyweight world title fight that promises to be explosive.

Joshua is bidding to join Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis in an elite group of fighters who have been three-time heavyweight world champions, while Dubois is appearing as the IBF belt holder for the first time since being elevated from interim champion.

AJ is the clear favourite and that should come as no real surprise. Both men boast incredible power – Joshua’s knockout rate is close to 90 per cent and Dubois’ just over 95 – but the man who enters the ring as the challenger has the far more impressive record, is vastly more experienced when it comes to these huge nights and is the technically superior fighter.

However, Dubois' power just can’t be ignored and only once has an opponent managed to go the full distance with Dynamite. Both of his losses have also come inside the distance and Joshua isn’t exactly a defensive master either as he has been knocked out once and knocked down a couple of times.

A Joshua win via stoppage is the most likely outcome but it is by no means a given and at the prices available offers little appeal. Instead, the knockdown markets provide the best angle of attack and a small play on both fighters to be knocked down stands out.

Since his pair of defeats to Usyk, Joshua has been rebuilding and in his last three fights has returned to the more aggressive approach that served him so well earlier in his career – stopping each of his last three opponents.

Dubois has shown he can haul himself off the canvas to win and his own knockout rate speaks for itself, while it is also worth noting that he was incredibly unlucky not to have recorded a knockdown in his defeat to Usyk as that key shot was judged to be a low blow. If Dubois can engineer an opening like that against the elusive Ukrainian, he can pick a shot against AJ as well.

Joshua vs Dubois undercard predictions

The stronger betting opportunities come in the undercard fights and the bet of the night could be a win for Hamzah Sheeraz in rounds one to six of his European middleweight title dust-up with holder Tyler Denny.

Since stepping up to this division, Sheeraz has been devastating, recording six stoppage wins, five of which have come inside the first five rounds including four in the first two. Denny is no pushover but Sheeraz seems destined for bigger things in the not-too-distant future and he can finish the job in the first half of the fight at Wembley.

Anthony Cacace produced a career-defining performance to stop heavy favourite Joe Cordina in his last bout. A similar performance from the Irish southpaw should see him stop Josh Warrington, who has won just one of his last five fights and has been knocked out twice in that run.

Joshua Buatsi developed a reputation as a knockout specialist earlier in his career but his last three wins have been on points and he may have to settle for another decision victory against durable Scot Willy Hutchinson.

Who is on the Joshua vs Dubois undercard?

Tyler Denny vs Hamza Sheeraz EBU European middleweight title fight
Anthony Cacace vs Josh Warrington IBF and IBO super featherweight title fight
Ishmael Davis vs Josh Kelly 12-round middleweight fight
Joshua Buatsi vs Willy Hutchinson WBO interim light heavyweight title fight
Mark Chamberlain vs Josh Padley Ten-round lightweight fight
