Match preview

Hull FC have been cut from 11-1 to 7-1 by Betway to win the Betfred Super League Grand Final following last week's opening-round thumping of Leeds Rhinos at Headingley.

The Black & Whites can give another significant signal of their intent by overcoming rivals Hull KR in round two.

Derby dust-ups are never easy to call, and Rovers have had their fair share of decent results in this contest, but such was the overwhelming nature of Hull's 30-4 win at Headingley that it's hard to make a strong case for the visitors.

They had an impressive opening win of their own as they saw off Wakefield Trinity with a comfortable 30-12 victory, but the Wildcats are expected to be facing a season of struggle at the wrong end of the table so the victory may not give a true indicator of Rovers' strengths.

This fixture will be a better barometer as it represents a huge step in class for them against a power-packed Hull side intent on challenging for silverware.

It's 2-11 about a home win but the 10-11 that the Airlie Birds get home by at least 15 points looks the way to go.

Hull won last year's corresponding fixture 56-12 on Good Friday and a repeat outcome is not beyond the realms of possibility.
