Took keen hold, held up in rear, not fluent 2nd, headway from 6th, jumped left and not fluent 3 out, went third just after 2 out, hit last, no impression (jockey said gelding ran too free) (op 10/11)
Midfield, no chance from 3 out, kept on run-in (inquiry held into running and riding; jockey said his instructions were to drop filly in, get her to relax and to do her best, having previously run freely in her races; he explained that early in the race when there was no pace filly was again keen in early stages, jumping without fluency which he reported to scales although, as pace lifted down back straight she had settled and her jumping improved,; however when pressure came upsides rounding final bend, filly began to run free again yet, despite asking her for effort to go with that runner, she did not have the pace to make any significant progress so he kept her balanced and she finished staying on at one pace gaining no ground on first four placed horses and so had, in his opinion, achieved best possible placing; he added that he considered filly may benefit from a sharper track, on a quicker surface, to give her best possible chance of staying in her races; trainer's rep confirmed instructions and that he was satisfied with ride given adding that they may consider whether it would be a better option to return to running filly on the Flat, which was noted) (op 9/1)
Raced in second 3 out, chased clear leader with one circuit to go, lost second and struggling 3 out, weakened and lost position gradually from 2 out (tchd 125/1)
