Tracked leader and travelled strongly throughout, led 2 out, soon readily went clear, eased towards finish, very easily (stewards considered the apparent improvement in form; trainer's representative said the gelding was suited by the flatter track and by being able to dictate and the stable's horses had been in good form recently) (op 4/1)
Midfield until dropped to rear 8th, ridden along before 9th, 12 lengths 5th 3 out, stayed on steadily to pass beaten rivals and went 2nd last, going on flat but no threat to winner (tchd 13/2 and tchd 8/1)
Led until 2 out, soon ridden and easily brushed aside by winner, lost 2nd last and plugged on same pace flat (vet reported the gelding lost its left fore shoe) (op 8/1 tchd 11/1)
In touch in midfield until headway to chase leaders 7th, driven and no impression soon after 2 out, well held and plugged on same pace after (op 7/2 tchd 9/2)
Always towards rear, jumped slowly 8th, losing touch 11th, pulled up next, burst blood vessel (vet reported the gelding had bled from the nose) (op 8/1)
