Took keen hold, prominent, switched right over 2f out, led over 1f out, ridden and edged right inside final furlong, headed post (jockey said gelding hung left throughout) (op 5/1 tchd 4/1)
Slowly into stride, held up in rear, not clear run over 1f out, ran on final 110yds, not reach leaders (An enquiry was held into the running of the gelding. The jockey stated the gelding missed the break and failed to muster early speed, which saw it get further back than intended. He added that his mount was outpaced and displayed a tendency to lug notably right-handed which restricted his ability to place the gelding under full pressure. He further added that eventually the gelding came back on the bridle approaching the home turn, before then been denied a clear run between rivals inside 1 1/2f out which forced him to switch right-handed. He considered the the left-handedness and tight nature of track were not playing to to geldings strengths and therefore recommended to the trainer that he try running the gelding at Kempton where it has won in the past)
