Pulled hard, in rear, hampered by faller 1st, some headway after 4 out, not fluent and weakened 2 out (jockey was questioned regarding his riding of filly in home straight after filly appeared to have been held together and conservatively handled over final three hurdles before finishing 8th of 12, beaten by 27 1/2l; jockey explained that filly had pulled very hard throughout, a fact he reported at scales and was also badly hampered by a rival who fell at first hurdle; he added that he commenced to ride filly along leaving back straight and was able to improve from his rearward position to be handily placed behind leaders approaching home turn; he continued by saying that off home bend, he had been slightly impeded by another rival, wandering left towards his mount and this had prevented him from being more vigorous on approach to three out; however, after jumping third-last, it quickly became apparent that filly was getting very tired and bearing in mind her early exertions, he felt it prudent to nurse filly home; vet reported filly had sustained two small wounds on lower left-fore) (op 20/1)
