In rear of mid-division, took closer order after 2 out and progress to go 3rd last, never near to challenge (jockey said regarding running and riding stated that his instructions were to drop his mount in and get him to settle, as he can be very free, and to achieve his best possible finishing position. He stated that his mount was still quite keen and did not jump particularly well but he picked up well when he asked him for his effort and then missed the second last. Furthermore, he added that he then felt he was not going to catch the first and second horses and he thought it was unnecessary to be hard on his mount when he had already achieved his best placing. Brouder could have put his mount into the race earlier and made more effort in the closing stages) (op 12/1)
