Soon led at fast pace, 10 lengths ahead halfway, ridden and headed 2f out, soon weakened, eased from over 1f out (following an enquiry into the running and riding, trainer said he acquired gelding after it won at Tipperary on the 1st June and since then it had only run once under his care; trainer added that having reviewed it's previous form, he told the jockey to go a good hard pace as the gelding had previously won when setting a strong pace; trainer added that he was disappointed that the gelding had not raced up the hill; trainer told the stewards that the gelding can be very free at home and was fitted with a cross noseband today; trainer said restraint would be required in future runs; he confirmed that in the short time that he had care of this gelding, no abnormalities had been found; jockey confirmed the instructions and added that he had attempted to make the running from a wide draw but the gelding had been set alight in so doing; jockey said the gelding had free wheeled into the dip but had tired when squeezed for an effort on the start of the uphill run; these explanation were noted) (op 66/1) | ||||||||||
