Held up, 12th 3f out, travelling well behind horses over 1f out, good headway near side into 2nd closing stages without threatening winner, kept on under hands and heels, nearest finish (jockey said, regarding running and riding, that his orders were to pop out of the stalls and let the filly find its feet, get into a rhythm and do his best but was not to use the whip unless one or two hits were necessary as it was genuine and gives its best, he was delighted with the run but thought she should have won if he had been more forceful in the closing stages, did not see the winner on the far side until he had reached the winning post and therefore took full responsibility for losing a race he should have won; trainer said the filly fractured its pelvis as a 2yo and appeared to be of average ability; trainer said, regarding apparent improvement in form, he was surprised with the very good run and had originally thought it needed better underfoot conditions)
