Appetite at the top of the bloodstock pyramid has arguably never been greater. This has led to a slew of mega-money prices throughout 2024, and some results have seen certain lots appreciate markedly in value.
Some operators, including those who are not plying their trade with the luxury of a bottomless budget, have received life-changing paydays along the way. With the curtain having dropped on another year of sales, now is the perfect time to reflect on some of the most remarkable trades from the last 12 months.
The below list has not been devised using maths or science, and does not reflect the greatest profit margin or return on investment from 2024. Instead, it is a subjective summary of some sensational bits of selling that were notable not only for the prices involved but the backstory too.
