Tom Segal's play of the day at Goodwood
Sergeant Wilko
3.00 Goodwood
Sergeant Wilko looked a sprinter going places when winning a valuable three-year-old handicap at Newmarket on soft ground last time and is the type who does only enough and keeps finding more when challenged.
Drawn on the stands' rail in a race in which there isn't that much early speed, Sergeant Wilko might well get the run of the race. Rumstar is a big danger if he handles the ground, but that is a big unknown. So, too, is Tiriac, who will love the ground. He hasn't had races go his way the last few times but before that he had looked a sprinter on the way up at York.
