Robbie Wilders' play of the day at Windsor
Pop Star
5.35 Windsor
The best bet at Windsor's evening meeting is Pop Star in the 6f handicap (5.35) for Alice Haynes, who could enjoy a good evening.
Pop Star might be underestimated as he finished last of eight at Hamilton last time. That's an effort worth forgiving as his chance was lost at the start. He's best sitting prominently and was carried right after leaving the stalls from a wayward one next door, forcing him to drop to last place.
He might have failed in his hat-trick bid under a penalty there after securing back-to-back successes at Ayr over 5f and 6f (latter victory was easier than the half-length winning margin suggested), but he's back into a Class 5 and Anna Gibson's 5lb claim could be a tool in this apprentice race.
This horse started out with Aidan O'Brien as a youngster and beat the smart Yosemite Valley (now rated 106) in a Navan maiden only 11 months ago. It's unlikely Haynes has got to the bottom of him yet.
