Robbie Wilders' play of the day at Southwell

My Awele

6.30 Southwell

My Awele was a taking winner on the all-weather at Southwell in late October and she can back up that success in the 6f fillies' handicap.

The three-year-old was in a different league to the opponents she faced in that Class 6 contest when only pushed out to defy top weight, and the clock spoke in her favour.

She ran a similar time to the Class 4 nursery winner over that trip on the same card while carrying 3lb extra. Indeed, she lugged more weight than everything in that earlier contest.

We're dealing with a rapidly improving filly and, after just six runs, there should be plenty more to come from this daughter of U S Navy Flag.

Given the way My Awele finished over the minimum distance, she should be seen to better effect over an extra furlong, and there's little in opposition for her to fear up in grade.
