Sophia’s Starlight is as game as they come and contests the 6f fillies’ handicap after getting up late in gritty fashion on soft ground at Newmarket last month.

The Grant Tuer-trained filly set out to make all there and her supporters would have feared the worst once she was headed around two furlongs from home, but she battled back to snatch victory from Executive Decision.

That filly, and the fourth home Funny Story, have come out and run well in defeat since and a 2lb rise to 93 should not faze Sophia’s Starlight, who loves cut in the ground and is Listed class on her day.

She can defy top weight from the front in what looks a slightly weaker contest before potentially stepping back up to Pattern company, with the stiffer nature of this course also looking in her favour.
