Robbie Wilders' play of the day at Chepstow
Drash On Ruby
3.45 Chepstow
Drash On Ruby takes the eye on her return from 568 days away in the 2m3½f handicap hurdle (3.45) at Chepstow.
That's obviously quite the absence to overcome, but the way Drash On Ruby travelled heading into the final hurdle on her last start over course and distance suggested she was potentially well ahead of her mark.
A bad error at the last knocked the stuffing out of her that day, but the form has worked out well (fourth Gwennie May Boy is now 28lb higher) and she has reached the age where her esteemed brother Dashel Drasher really started to take off.
There is still time for Drash On Ruby to rate a good bit higher and Jeremy Scott's patience can pay off. This well-bred mare could have been retired to stud, so it's interesting her connections are trying again with her.
