Robbie Wilders' play of the day at Chelmsford
Star Pupil
A runner that makes significant appeal at Chelmsford is Star Pupil, who contests the opening 1m2f handicap. Star Pupil had the speed to win over 6f at Wolverhampton earlier in the year, but didn't seem to have any real issues stretching out another four furlongs at Lingfield last month.
Although the son of Zoustar was only sixth, he kept on in a taking manner after being last rounding the home bend in a race that lacked early pace.
Trainer Richard Hughes applies first-time cheekpieces in a bid to change things up and stable jockey Finley Marsh takes over from an apprentice in the saddle. Star Pupil has a better draw now and appears to have been generously treated by the handicapper.
