A three-time winner on the Flat, including when beating Solanna by a length and three-quarters over 1m2f at Yarmouth in July, Amy Murphy’s Fillyfudge is currently rated 64 in that discipline.

She shaped with promise on her first two starts over hurdles – interestingly, both at Leicester in November 2022 – and then finished behind the highly talented Dysart Enos at Huntingdon 12 months ago.

Fillyfudge graduated to handicap hurdles with a mark of 88 in January, and is now 4lb lower. The mare resumes her jumps career after a successful Flat campaign and was in peak form when last seen in a 1m3f fillies’ handicap at Southwell last month.

She made a bold bid to make all before proving one-paced in the closing stages and finishing a length-and-a-half third to Shady Bay.

It’s not difficult to make the case that Fillyfudge could prove well treated over hurdles this winter, and Murphy appears to have identified a good opportunity.
