Paul Kealy's play of the day at Windsor
Racingbreaks Ryder
Racingbreaks Ryder looks well worth following after a seriously eyecatching run over 7f at Goodwood.
The Charlie Hills-trained four-year-old had given the impression he was a soft-ground horse when winning his first three races of last spring, and it's fair to say he hasn't repeated the form since.
However, having gone off at single figures for the Golden Mile off a mark of 97 during that campaign, he went back to the meeting last month with a rating of just 80 and ran a blinder to rattle home for third from the widest stall of all at 25-1.
He has clearly been handicapped to win for a while, and perhaps a return to a mile, over which three of his four wins have come, will be the answer. You rarely get ground faster in Britain than it was at Goodwood for the first four days, so Racingbreaks Ryder certainly handles it well enough to be competitive.
The bang-in-form Yantarni, second in the Shergar Cup to New Image on Saturday, is 2lb well in after that and looks an obvious danger if his busy schedule doesn't catch up with him.
