In the 2m3f handicap hurdle at Taunton (1.25) King Of The Road looks the one to be on after blowing away the cobwebs over little more than 2m with a fair sixth at Exeter, having shown up well for a long way.

He was a slow enough learner in his first season but was progressing in the spring. He may well have had enough for the season when a beaten favourite at Huntingdon on his eighth run of the campaign, although he was hardly disgraced in finishing fourth of 13.

As a five-year-old just embarking on his second season, there should be plenty more to come from a horse who is going to get further than this in time.
