Graeme Rodway's play of the day at Southwell
Queens Venture
The 2m4½f novice handicap hurdle piques my interest and the Dan Skelton-trained Queens Venture is taken to follow up last week’s win at Market Rasen.
Queens Venture was making her handicap debut after just three runs under rules, one in a bumper and two over hurdles, and she blew away the opposition by eight and a half lengths.
That was over 2m7f and she drops back in trip, but she was having her first run for 100 days and is due to go up to a mark of 102 in future. She is therefore 4lb well in under a 7lb penalty.
