Graeme Rodway's play of the day at Chepstow

Financer

8.00 Chepstow

The progressive Financer looks capable of making it three wins from his last four starts.

The son of Cracksman improved when stepped up three furlongs to this 1m2f trip to make a winning handicap debut at Redcar in June and made short work of the opposition on his next start at Haydock off a 3lb higher rating. That marked him down as a rapidly improving horse.

Financer went up another 6lb and found only one too good when bidding for a hat-trick at Doncaster two weeks ago. He was beaten just half a length by winner Prometeo and the front two came four lengths clear of the remainder, which gives the form a solid look.

He’s up another 5lb in the weights, but this will be only his seventh start and he's unexposed in comparison with most of his rivals. It won’t take much further improvement for another win.
