Confirmed runners and riders for the Musidora Stakes at York
Leading Cazoo Oaks contender Emily Upjohn will test her Classic credentials against four rivals in the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes (3.35) at York on Wednesday.
The John and Thady Gosden-trained filly, who is 4-1 second favourite generally for the Oaks but 7-2 joint-favourite alongside Tuesday with William Hill, will face Life Of Dreams, The Algarve, Luna Dorada and Ching Shih on the opening day of the Dante meeting.
Emily Upjohn caused a stir in the Oaks ante-post betting with an impressive victory in a 1m2f novice at Sandown last month, powering away to win by nine and a half lengths under Frankie Dettori.
After the race, Dettori revealed the daughter of Sea The Stars had produced a "wow" performance on the gallops before her seasonal comeback, in which she carried a penalty for her debut win at Wolverhampton last November.
Aidan O'Brien will look to The Algarve, who got off the mark at the third time of asking on heavy ground at Galway last October, to strengthen his Oaks hand in a race he won with subsequent Epsom heroine Snowfall last year.
The Charlie Appleby-trained Life Of Dreams, who is as low as 7-1 for the Oaks after her victory on debut at Newbury last month, is joined in the line-up by Luna Dorada and Ching Shih.
In the same card's 1895 Duke Of York Clipper Logistics Stakes (3.00), top sprinter Dragon Symbol will make his first start for Roger Varian, having switched yards from Archie Watson.
First past the post before demoted to second in the Commonwealth Cup, the four-year-old was also second in the July Cup last year.
He faces ten rivals including Minzaal and Happy Romance, although fellow leading ante-post contender Kinross was not declared.
