Who will win the first juvenile race of the season in Britain? We have our say
The opening race on the card at Doncaster on Saturday is the Unibet Brocklesby Conditions Stakes (1.25) over five furlongs, which offers Flat fans their first glimpse of this season's two-year-olds in Britain. With no form to go on, which juvenile will be the first in the winner's enclosure?
Fahey is adept at having juveniles ready to go first time out
The obvious place to start would be Forca Brasil and he has plenty of reasons to recommend him. However, I'm drawn to Vintage Clarets, who represents Richard Fahey.
Fahey trained the last Brocklesby winner Show Me Show Me in 2019, with last year's race claimed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Vintage Clarets has stacks of winning relatives in his pedigree, with half-brother Morache Music a three-time winner at two.
First-season sire Ardad was a Flying Childers and Windsor Castle winner as a juvenile as well, and Fahey is adept at having juveniles ready to go first time out.

No reason to think Forca Brasil will not be of similar precocity
Forca Brasil would be my selection given his pedigree has plenty of precocity on both sides. By first-season sire Cotai Glory, a Molecomb Stakes winner at two and second in the King's Stand at three, he is out of Naias and therefore a half-brother to Muker, a son of last year's record-breaking first-season sire Mehmas.
Muker himself was a winner on his first start on the second day of racing's resumption last year and subsequently backed up that effort with placed efforts in the Windsor Castle and Mercury Stakes.
Their dam is a half-sister to two stakes-performing sprinters who made their juvenile debuts in April and May respectively, and there is no reason to think Forca Brasil will not be of similar precocity and maturity.

Forca Brasil could well score judging on final bit of work
I was lucky enough to witness Forca Brasil's final bit of work before Saturday's Brocklesby when he worked on turf on Racecourse Side in Newmarket on Tuesday morning.
Covering five furlongs under Rossa Ryan, the youngster was well on top of two stablemates at the business end and looked very professional.
Afterwards trainer George Boughey told me: "They'll be scattered everywhere across Town Moor I would imagine, but he's done plenty of work and I don't want to disappoint him by not running. He's ready to go and he's as forward a two-year-old as I've got. It's a very hard race to win but he's a month ahead of most two-year-olds and his owner wants to have a runner in the race."
He added: "On his last piece of work under Rossa Ryan on the Flat gallop, he'll certainly give a good account. I've five two-year-olds for Amo Racing and they're all galloping and any of them could have run at Doncaster, but we are going with Forca Brasil."
