What's on this week: Jonbon could return in Shloer Chase before big betting races headline weekend action at Cheltenham
Monday
Paul Nicholls called Kalif Du Berlais one of his nicest prospects last season and all eyes will be on his debut over fences in the £50,000 2m graduation chase at Carlisle (2.00). The four-year-old takes on a small but quality field, headed by last month's Cheltenham winner Path D'Oroux for Gavin Cromwell.
No Questions Asked, last seen in a Graded bumper, is a notable runner in the 2m1f maiden hurdle (12.30), while Kempton hosts a Pertemps qualifier, although with just four runners. All-weather action also takes place at Newcastle and Wolverhampton.
Off the track, confirmations are made for the Greatwood Hurdle and Paddy Power Gold Cup and entries are revealed for Saturday and Sunday's cards at Cheltenham's November meeting.
Tuesday
Expect to see Constitution Hill's name on the list of early-closing entries revealed for the BetMGM Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle on Tuesday, with the star hurdler on track for his return in the north east.
Another Cheltenham Festival winner is set to appear at Fairyhouse on Tuesday with Stellar Story declared for the 2m4f beginners' chase at Fairyhouse. He was a shock 33-1 winner of the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle in March.
There are also meetings Huntingdon, Hereford, Lingfield and Southwell on the day.
Wednesday
Willie Mullins' first runner at Bangor was a winner and he could return to Wales in the week with Space Tourist in the Listed 2m1½f mares' novice chase (12.55). The home opposition could include You Wear It Well and West Balboa.
There is also Listed action on the all-weather at Lingfield with the River Eden Fillies' Stakes over 1m5f (2.07), while the Fleur De Lys (2.40) could feature the unbeaten Juddmonte talent Arolla.
Racing also takes place at Ayr, Dundalk and Southwell.
Thursday
It is Taunton's first meeting of the year but conditions could prove difficult, with the going already good to firm and a dry forecast in the south west.
At Market Rasen, the 2m4½f mares' maiden hurdle (12.55) looks a fascinating contest with Holloway Queen, a £180,000 buy from the Aintree sales, representing Nicky Henderson.
There is also action at Sedgefield, Thurles and Chelmsford but, crucially, the final field for Saturday's Paddy Power Gold Cup will also be revealed.
Friday
Cheltenham's three-day November meeting kicks off on Friday and with a reshuffled line-up. The Shloer Chase (2.20) has been moved to the opening day, meaning Jonbon's return will be the focus point on day one.
There is also the first race of the season on the cross-country course with Galvin heading the betting for the Glenfarclas Chase (2.55), while course winners Potters Charm and Valgrand are among entries in the Grade 2 novice hurdle (3.30).
Team Mullins have a surprise entry at Newcastle, with Mr Escobar, in the 2m4½f maiden hurdle (12.10), and more racing can be savoured at Southwell and Wolverhampton.
There is also some big international action to enjoy, with the Group 2 Bahrain International Trophy taking place. Its expected field could see runners from Britain, Ireland and even Japan line up.
Saturday
Paddy Power Gold Cup day is Cheltenham's biggest outside of March and the £150,000 feature looks set to be a belter. The impressive novice Ginny's Destiny heads the betting for Paul Nicholls, who won the race with Stage Star last season, while Protektorat and Ga Law are also among the entries.
Other key races at Cheltenham include trial races for the Triumph and Arkle, while jumps action also comes from Wetherby and Uttoxeter in Britain and on the all-weather at Newcastle and Wolverhampton.
In Ireland, the two-day Navan Racing festival gets under way. Gordon Elliott has already indicated he plans to target the meeting, with the Lismullen Hurdle and Fortria Chase among the Graded highlights.
Sunday
The Greatwood Hurdle (3.30) is Sunday's big-race highlight and looks set to attract an all-star cast, including Fergal O'Brien's stable star Dysart Enos and Burdett Road, one of the leading juveniles from last season.
The 2m4f novice handicap chase (1.45) will be an intriguing watch with a view to the new race at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
It is also a big day at Navan with the Troytown likely to prove a feverishly difficult handicap puzzle to solve, while the 2m4f beginners' chase on the card last season featured Fact To File.
Fontwell also joins in the Sunday racing with the Southern National (2.05) the centrepiece.
There is also one last chance to see Charyn too. The Queen Anne and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes hero signs off before he heads to stud with a tilt at the Mile Championship at Kyoto in Japan in the morning.
