Monday

The battle for the apprentice jockeys' championship goes down to the wire and Sean Dylan Bowen and Joe Leavy head to Wolverhampton for six rides each, including three clashes between the pair.

More all-weather action can be found at Kempton, where a half-brother to St Leger winner Eldar Eldarov is the main attraction. Naval Command makes his debut for Godolphin in the first division of the mile novice stakes (5.45) before Charlie Appleby and William Buick field Masai Moon in the second division (6.15).

Come On You Spurs bids for a hat-trick in Musselburgh's feature 7f fillies' handicap (3.50) against some smart opposition while more Flat racing can be found at Windsor and Roscommon.

The sole jumps meeting of the day is at Hereford, where Irish trainer Stuart Crawford sends debutant Aotano over for the 2m juvenile hurdle (2.30).

Away from the track, Ascot and the Curragh are central to what is going on. Confirmations and supplementary entries are revealed at noon for Qipco British Champions Day at Ascot, while Shark Hanlon will be appealing against the severity of his ten-month ban at the IHRB's headquarters at the Curragh.

Tuesday

Mylesfromwicklow has turned out to be a fun chaser for Dan and Harry Skelton and the course-and-distance winner seeks a third win over fences in the 2m5½f handicap chase (4.05) at Market Rasen.

Jump racing can also be found at Punchestown, which opens for the jumps season with a two-day meeting where smart hurdler Pied Piper takes on three rivals in a 2m2½f handicap contest under Jack Kennedy.

Entries also close at midday for the Boylesports Grand Sefton Chase on November 9. The contest is the first race of the new season to take place over the spruce Grand National fences at Aintree.

On the Flat, Yaahobby has snatched his last two victories under Cam Hardie and will aim for another prize in the 7f handicap (8.30) at Newcastle alongside fixtures at Leicester and Yarmouth.

The BHA's whip review committee also convenes on Tuesday to determine whether Cesarewitch winner Alphonse Le Grande will be disqualified due to jockey Jamie Powell going over the whip limit. If found to be true, last Saturday's contest will instead be awarded to runner-up Manxman.

Wednesday

Big names are set to descend on Punchestown for day two of its season opener, with two Grade 3 chases on offer.

The novices get under way first with a 2m2½f chase (3.20), won last year by subsequent Grade 1 contender Hercule Du Seuil. Willie Mullins has just one entered in Pink In The Park and could be taken on by Gordon Elliott, who has three entered, including Graded winner Shecouldbeanything.

The open chase (3.50) has several star names entered, with Minella Indo, Conflated and Minella Crooner all among the possible contenders.

Bowling Buddy is in flying form and could line up in Wetherby's opening novice hurdle (2.00), while Escapeandevade is on a four-timer in a competitive 1m7f handicap chase (2.30).

More jump racing takes place at Worcester alongside Flat meetings at Kempton and Nottingham, where the 1m½f maiden stakes (2.15) could feature debutants from Godolphin, Shadwell and Cheveley Park.

Thursday

Declarations are made at 10am for Qipco British Champions Day and we will get our first look at the final fields for the lucrative six-race card.

On the track, three valuable maidens feature on the card at the Curragh, while a smart novice stakes (2.40) takes place at Brighton, where several last-time-out winners could feature.

Over the jumps, Investment Manager was a five-length winner on his return to action last month under Brendan Powell and could vie for another success in the 3m1f handicap chase (2.53) at Wincanton.

At Carlisle, the Go North series is open to qualifiers and classy chaser L'Eau Du Sud is a notable entry in the 2m novice limited handicap chase (1.57).

Grade 1 winner Beacon Edge is a course-and-distance winner at Thurles and could feature in a 2m7f handicap hurdle (3.55) ahead of evening action at Southwell and Chelmsford.

Friday

A half-brother to Mostahdaf is an interesting prospect in Haydock's opening mile novice stakes. Mubhir sports the Shadwell silks and could make his debut for John and Thady Gosden alongside a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Cinderella's Dream (Blue Laced) and a half-brother to 1,000 Guineas winner Elmalka (Sallaal).

Arolla made a lovely debut for Harry Charlton at Ffos Las and may seek to double up at Redcar ahead of an evening Flat card at Newcastle, while jump racing is held at Fakenham and Uttoxeter. Dargiannini and Jasmine D'Airy are two smart prospects for Harry Derham at the West Midlands track.

Saturday

The British Flat season goes out with a bang at Ascot with the Qipco British Champions Day, where some of the best runners around will bid to end their campaign on a high in one of six lucrative contests.

The highlight may be the return of Economics in the Champion Stakes (3.55), in which he will take on French runner Calandagan in a bid to complete a perfect season after downing Auguste Rodin in the Irish equivalent.

Charyn, who was climbed to the top of the mile division this season for Roger Varian, is well fancied to land the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (3.15) from Sun Chariot winner Tamfana while Kinross may attempt another victory in the Champions Sprint (1.55).

No-one has been able to topple Kyprios from the top of the stayers standings and he is primed for a first success at the Ascot fixture in the Long Distance Cup (1.20), in which he was beaten by a neck last year.

Leopardstown opens its two-day meeting with the Group 3 Eyrefield Stakes (3.40) and  Killavullan Stakes (4.40). Catterick and Wolverhampton bookend the day with the former starting at 11am and the latter ending at 8.30pm, while jump racing is on at Stratford, Newton Abbot and Limerick, which hosts two Listed hurdles.

The day also features top-class action across the globe as Australia stages the Group 1 Caulfield Cup.

Sunday

Kempton switches from the all-weather to the jumps on Sunday headed by a £50,000 Listed hurdle (4.00). There are more Listed offerings in Ireland, with the Knockaire Stakes (2.25) and Trigo Stakes (3.35) at Leopardstown.

Over jumps, it is a day for the hardy chasers, with Sedgefield hosting the Durham National (4.20) and Limerick staging the Munster National (3.50).
