What's on this week: attention on Fillies' Mile, Dewhurst and Cesarewitch at Newmarket and Chepstow's jumps season opener
Monday
The week after the Arc will start with forfeits for Saturday's two big races at Newmarket, the Darley Dewhurst Stakes and the Club Godolphin Cesarewitch Handicap.
Back in France, the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities conference takes place at Saint-Cloud. Its key focus will be on racing integrity.
The on-course action in Britain and Ireland comes from Pontefract, Yarmouth, Killarney, Fairyhouse, Stratford and Wolverhampton.
At Stratford, Nigel Twiston-Davies will bid to continue his red-hot run of form with Ballycamus, his sole representative on the card in the 2m6½f handicap chase (3.52).
Tuesday
The 2m2f beginners chase (4.15) at Galway will be worth watching.
Three years ago it was won by Grand National hero Noble Yeats, with Gabynako and Magic Daze involved. Two years ago high-class handicappers Stumptown and Yeah Man made their chasing bows, while last year Perceval Legallois won and Meetingofthewaters was a beaten favourite.
The rest of the day's action comes in Britain from Leicester, Huntingdon, Brighton and Southwell.
Wednesday
We will get the final field and draw for the Fillies' Mile, Old Rowley Cup and the other Group races at Newmarket on Friday, while we will also find out if Teeshan and Brechin Castle clash in Friday's Persian War Novices' Hurdle at Chepstow.
In the afternoon there are five meetings across Britain and Ireland, with Flat action from Nottingham, Navan and Kempton and jump racing at Sedgefield and Ludlow.
Thursday
Thursday will start with declarations and the draw for the Dewhurst and Cesarewitch at Newmarket on Saturday.
There's jumps action from Exeter and Tramore, but the best jumps horse in action could be running at Bath, with the Nicky Henderson-trained Cheltenham and Punchestown festival winner Marie's Rock among the entries for the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Beckford Stakes (3.10).
The day's other Flat meetings come from Ayr, Thurles, Chelmsford and Southwell.
Pricewise and Paul Kealy's tips for Friday's racing will be available to Members' Club subscribers at 6pm online and in the next day's paper.
Friday
The ITV4 cameras will be in attendance as Newmarket's two-day Dubai Future Champions Festival kicks off with the Group 1 Bet365 Fillies' Mile (3.35).
Charlie Appleby's impressive May Hill winner Desert Flower is the ante-post 7-4 favourite, while Aidan O'Brien is responsible for seven of the 11 remaining entries.
The prestigious juvenile contest headlines a card that also features the Cornwallis (1.47), Oh So Sharp (2.25), Challenge (3.00) and Pride Stakes (4.45) – as well as the Old Rowley Cup (4.10) for anyone seeking a big handicap to solve.
Three races from York and two from Chepstow – including the informative Grade 2 Unibet Persian War Novices' Hurdle (3.15) – round out a chunky ten-race terrestrial broadcast. The day's other meetings come from Downpatrick, Dundalk and Kempton.
Saturday
It's day two of the Future Champions Festival and that means the colts will take centre stage, with arguably Britain's most prestigious juvenile Group 1 the feature race on another busy afternoon of high-class action.
Nijinsky, Mill Reef, Grundy, The Minstrel, El Gran Senor, Generous, Dr Devious, Rock Of Gibraltar, Sir Percy, Teofilo, New Approach, Frankel, Dawn Approach, Churchill, Pinatubo, St Mark's Basilica and City Of Troy are among the stars to have won the Dewhurst Stakes (3.00).
At this stage 61 remain in contention with The Lion In Winter, Ancient Truth, Scorthy Champ and Wimbledon Hawkeye all towards the head of the betting after promising campaigns. It is sure to be a hugely significant race in terms of next year's Classics.
The ITV cameras will also show four races from York and the Darley (1.15) Zetland (1.50) and Autumn Stakes (2.25) from Newmarket, but for many punters the other race the day will revolve around will be the Club Godolphin Cesarewitch Handicap (3.35).
Unsurprisingly for a staying handicap the head of the market is dominated by Irish entries, with Sir Mark Prescott and Hughie Morrison the only British trainers with runners at less than 25-1.
Between Emmet and Willie Mullins, Cathy O'Leary, Joseph O'Brien, Gavin Cromwell, Charles Byrnes and Gordon Elliott nine of the first 13 in the ante-post betting hail from Ireland.
The second day of Chepstow's jumps season opener takes place with the Listed novice chase and the Silver Trophy the highlights. There is also an afternoon jumps card from Hexham, fixtures at Fairyhouse and Naas and an evening meeting at Chelmsford.
Sunday
The DragonBet Welsh Champion Hurdle (3.55) is the feature race at Ffos Las, while the Alderbrook Handicap for professional jump jockeys takes place at Goodwood.
There's also the small matter of two €100,000-plus races at Naas, with the Irish EBF Auction Series Race Final (2.15) and Colm White Bookmaker Beggar's End Handicap (4.00). Cork also stages a jumps meeting.
Internationally, one of the world's most unique races, the Velka Pardubicka, takes place. The famous and daunting Czech contest over some weird and wonderful cross-country obstacles has been targeted this year by Gordon Elliott with Coko Beach, while John McConnell could be represented with Streets Of Doyen.
