Monday

Paul Nicholls sends a strong team of four runners to Wincanton, including Larchmont Lass who bids to improve her course figures of 211 in the mares' handicap hurdle (2.30).

It could also pay to follow the trainer's Zaochen Enki (3.30) as Nicholls has won the maiden hurdle three times from a total of four runners in the last ten seasons.

All-weather fixtures at Lingfield in the afternoon, where Amo Racing's Diablo Rojo (4.17) runs for the first time since the Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York last August, and Wolverhampton in the evening complete the day's schedule.

Racing Post+ Ultimate subscribers can read a powerful interview with Gordon Elliott from 6pm on our digital platforms before it is published in Tuesday's edition.

Tuesday

Patrick Mullins continues his quest to ride a winner at every British jumps track with a visit to Hexham, where he partners Road To Home for his father Willie in the maiden hurdle (3.20).

There is also jumps action at Taunton before an evening all-weather fixture at Newcastle.

Another sign of the changing of seasons comes with Pricewise unearthing the value for the 2,000 Guineas, which is available to Racing Post+ Ultimate subscribers from 6pm before being published in Wednesday's edition.

Wednesday

The most valuable race of the day is on the all-weather at Kempton with the £26,000 7f handicap (7.00) featuring many familiar names.

The James Tate-trained Mount Athos, who has won the race for the last two years, appears among the entries alongside all-weather regulars Willem Twee, Popmaster and Heathcliff, while Roi De France could be an interesting runner for John and Thady Gosden.

The jumps action comes from Hereford and Market Rasen, where the prolific Demoiselle Kap could run the feature 2m3f handicap chase (3.15).

Thursday

On a busy day of racing, Warwick stages the Challenger Staying Chase Series Final (4.32), for which recent winners The Doyen Chief, Frenchy Du Large, Ballycamus and Saladins Son feature among the entries.

The first action of the week in Ireland comes at Clonmel, where Willie Mullins has entered Blizzard Of Oz, Lombron and Rath Gaul Boy in the 2m4f beginners' chase (3.42).

Southwell completes the jumps fare with Wolverhampton and Chelmsford hosting all-weather cards in the afternoon and evening respectively.

The final field for Saturday's British Flat season opener, the William Hill Lincoln at Doncaster, will be confirmed.

Friday

The entries for the Grade 1 bonanza on the opening day of Aintree's Grand National meeting will be revealed.

All eyes will be on the Aintree Hurdle after Nicky Henderson raised the tantalising prospect of running Constitution Hill on Thursday week, while the likely fields for the Manifesto Novices' Chase, Anniversary 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle and Aintree Bowl will also become clearer.

On the track, there are two jumps fixtures at Fontwell and Wetherby alongside three all-weather meetings at Lingfield, Southwell and Dundalk.

Saturday

The attention switches to the Flat with the staging of the traditional curtain-raiser, the William Hill Lincoln, on a Doncaster card featuring supporting races such as the Brocklesby, Cammidge Trophy and Doncaster Mile.

Kempton joins Doncaster on the ITV Racing roster with the Queen's Prize Handicap (2.05) and Rosebery Handicap (2.40) being shown on the channel, before the Listed Snowdrop Fillies' Stakes is run at 3.15.

There is also Flat racing at the Curragh and Newcastle as well as jumps meetings at Stratford and Uttoxeter.

Sunday

Future stars will be out in force at Leopardstown with trials for the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas and the Ballysax Stakes all renowned for pointing the way to the Classics.

Ascot stages a jumps fixture featuring a veterans' chase (5.05) and a juvenile handicap hurdle (3.20).

Doncaster hosts day two of Lincoln weekend, while a jumps card at Downpatrick completes the day's action.
