What's on this week: Bob Olinger and Jonbon among stars lined up for Ascot
Monday
Nassalam has made the perfect start to his chasing career and although a fortuitous winner at Newbury last time out, the Gary Moore-trained four-year-old bids to extend his record to 3-3 over fences in an intriguing novice chase (1.00) on a seven-race card at Plumpton.
The opposition consists of Grade 2-winning hurdler For Pleasure, who has not had the most straightforward start to his chasing career but did finish third behind recent Grade 1 winner Edwardstone at Warwick last time out, and Kid Commando, a course-and-distance winner over hurdles.
Other meetings come on the all-weather at Chelmsford and Wolverhampton.
Tuesday
The Ronan McNally-trained Vee Dancer could complete a quickfire hat-trick in Britain as the six-year-old is entered in a handicap hurdle (2.15) on Catterick's seven-race card.
Kevin Brogan has steered the Irish raider to odds-on successes at Huntingdon and Hereford this month and the conditional will be on board again. The Tom Lacey-trained Quick Draw, also seeking a hat-trick, will provide stiff opposition from the top of the weights.
Wednesday
Silver Forever could bid to make it back-to-back wins over course and distance in the Listed mares' chase (2.00) on a decent midweek card at Newbury. Henry Daly's recent Listed Market Rasen scorer Chilli Filli is also entered.
I Am Maximus, who beat My Drogo in a Cheltenham bumper, could aim to build on his hurdling debut third in the 2m maiden hurdle (12.50). Other jumps action comes from Leicester, while three all-weather meetings are staged at Lingfield, Kempton and Dundalk.
Thursday
Willie Mullins could unleash some of his star novice chasers at Naas, with his Grade 1-winning hurdlers Gaillard Du Mesnil and Galopin Des Champs both holding entries in the beginners' chase (2.00).
It will be interesting to see whether Maskada lines up in the mares' novice chase at Exeter (2.15) given that she chased home The Glancing Queen on her chasing debut at Bangor in a race that has already produced two subsequent winners.
Russian Rumour landed a gamble at Lingfield for Flat trainer Jonathan Portman and could aim to make it back-to-back wins in the mares' novice hurdle (12.00). Other British jumps action comes from Ffos Las, with Southwell and Chelmsford hosting all-weather meetings.
Friday
Ante-post Turners Novices' Chase favourite and Ballymore winner Bob Olinger could head to Ascot for the Grade 2 Howden Noel Novices' Chase (2.55).
Henry de Bromhead's six-year-old made the perfect start to his chasing career at Gowran Park last month and spectators at the Berkshire track could be set for a thrilling spectacle with Supreme favourite Jonbon entered in the Howden Kennel Gate Novices' Hurdle (2.20), the other Grade 2 on the six-race card.
The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained I Like To Move It is 3-3 over hurdles and a Grade 2 winner already. He could provide Jonbon with his sternest test to date, while Paul Nicholls' unbeaten Knappers Hill, who won a Listed bumper over course and distance, is also entered.
Uttoxeter hosts seven races with Southwell, Kempton and Dundalk racing on the all-weather.
Saturday
The Grade 1 Howden Long Walk Hurdle (2.25) is the highlight of Ascot's two-day meeting on a card which also features the Listed Silver Cup Handicap Chase (3.00) and the Grade 3 Betfair Exchange Trophy (3.35).
Paisley Park, a two-time winner of the Long Walk, will be without the services of regular rider Aidan Coleman, who is suspended. Long Distance Hurdle winner Thomas Darby, Ronald Pump and Thyme Hill – who will be hoping to put a failed French adventure behind him – could all line up, while Buzz is the likely market leader for Nicky Henderson after his Grade 2 win at the course last time out in the Coral Hurdle. Champ could also run for the Seven Barrows trainer on what would be a seasonal reappearance.
The Tommy Whittle Handicap Chase (2.40) spearheads a strong seven-race card at Haydock with the Listed mares' novice hurdle (12.55) also of interest.
The Listed Future Champions Race (3.30) was won by Champion Bumper winner Sir Gerhard last year and could provide more festival at Navan.
More jumps action comes from Newcastle, with all-weather meetings at Lingfield and Wolverhampton completing a busy day.
Sunday
The Listed Boreen Belle Mares Novice Hurdle (1.40) is the feature of the afternoon action from Thurles. There is a quiet end to the week in Britain, with a jumps meeting at Fakenham and an all-weather card at Kempton.
