Jonbon and Monmiral in midweek clash before Betfair Chase tops Saturday action

Monday

The week begins with three jumps meetings in the afternoon at Plumpton, Leicester and Exeter.

At the latter, Grade 2 winner McFabulous makes his second appearance of the season for Paul Nicholls in the 2m3f novice chase (1.30) after being pulled up nine days ago at Wincanton.

He takes on just three rivals but the addition of chase debutant and talented hurdler Camprond makes the race in intriguing affair.

The day is brought to a close with an all-weather meeting from Wolverhampton.

Tuesday

Racing continues from Fakenham and Hereford, while Fairyhouse provides the only action in Ireland.

There is also a fixture from Lingfield as Branson Missouri bids for a hat-trick in the 2m3½f handicap hurdle (2.00).

The only Flat meeting of the day comes from Newcastle, which opens with a valuable 1m4½f handicap (3.42) worth £25,000 and features Listed runner-up Jack Darcy.

Wednesday

All eyes will be on Warwick as Grade 1 hurdle winners Jonbon and Monmiral clash in the 2m novice chase (2.45).

The Nicky Henderson-trained Jonbon, who chased home stablemate Constitution Hill in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle before winning the Top Novices' Hurdle at Aintree, makes his chasing debut in a race won last year by subsequent Arkle hero Edwardstone.

He has been set a stern challenge with Monmiral rerouted here after being taken out of Saturday's Arkle Trial at Cheltenham due to the ground.

Last season's Greatwood Hurdle winner West Cork, who was second on his first start over fences at the track two weeks ago, completes the high-class three-runner line-up.

In the 3m veteran handicap chase (3.15), Lostintranslation is set to make his first start since finishing 15th in the Grand National, with De Rasher Counter and Snow Leopardess among the opposition.

Rapid Flight, who has won five of his eight starts this year, is declared for the 3m novice chase at Hexham (1.23) and Southwell is the venue for the day's final afternoon fixture.

There is evening action on the Polytrack at Dundalk and Kempton.

Thursday

King George winner Tornado Flyer is set to make his first appearance of the season in the Grade 2 Clonmel Oil Chase (2.53), a race won last year by multiple Grade 1 winner Fakir D'Oudairies.

Willie Mullins could end up with half the field for the 2m4½f contest, with Blue Lord and Haut En Couleurs also featuring among the entries.

Cheltenham Festival winner Elimay could make her seasonal debut on the same card alongside Mount Ida and recent winner Jeremys Flame in the 2m4½f mares' chase (2.23)

The afternoon jumps action in Britain comes from Newcastle, Market Rasen and Wincanton, while Chelmsford host the only evening fixture.

Friday

The first of two days of racing at Ascot kicks off with Grade 2 winner
Aucunrisque, Balco Coastal and Goshen among the entries for the 2m3f handicap chase (12.55).

Kiltealy Briggs and Sussex Champion Chase winner Tamaroc Du Mathan could also feature on the card as they take on 2020 winner Espoir De Guye in the 2m5f handicap chase (2.05).

Catterick and Chepstow also host jumps action, while Kempton provides an evening fixture on the all-weather.

Saturday

It's Betfair Chase day at Haydock and a small but quality field of six runners are entered for the Grade 1 contest (3.00).

Heading the betting is A Plus Tard, who makes his first start since cruising to an impressive success in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

With Royal Pagaille and Frodon unlikely to run, Protektorat heads the British challengers while Bristol De Mai seeks a fourth win in the 3m1½f contest.

Run For Oscar, Good Risk At All and Complete Unknown could provide the warm-up at Haydock in a competitive field for the 3m½f handicap hurdle (2.25).

Haydock's card will struggle to outshine Ascot, where dazzling Supreme winner Constitution Hill is set to make his seasonal debut in the Grade 2 Coral Hurdle (2.40).

Also set to run is L'Homme Presse, who targets the Chanelle Pharma 1965 Chase (2.05) en route to Gold Cup ambitions.

Edwardstone, who was a non-runner in Sunday's Shloer Chase, could reappear instead in the Jim Barry Wines Hurst Park Handicap Chase (3.15), which also includes entries from Funambule Sivola, Allmankind and Thyme White.

Elsewhere, there is afternoon action is on the all-weather from Lingfield and jumps racing at Huntingdon. Ireland also holds a jumps meeting at Punchestown, headed by the Grade 2 Craddockstown Novice Chase (1.03).

The day draws to a close with a fixture from Wolverhampton.

Sunday

The action-packed week concludes with racing from Uttoxeter, Exeter and Cork but the pick of the action is at Punchestown, where the Grade 1 Unibet Morgiana Hurdle (2.05) headlines the afternoon card.

Willie Mullins has claimed ten of the last 11 runnings of the 2m contest, and will be on the hunt for another success in the €120,000 race.
