Dan Skelton boasts powerful Lanzarote Hurdle hand again - but unexposed mud-lover makes most appeal
The 2023 Lanzarote went down as one of the most attritional handicaps of the season with only four of the 20-runner field completing. With conditions likely to be similarly hard work on Saturday given the recent wet spell, strong stayers at the 2m5f trip will be required.
West Balboa stayed on best to land that race and may lead the charge for Dan Skelton once more. Skelton also won this last season with 33-1 shot Jay Jay Reilly and is often a man to follow in Britain’s top handicap hurdles.
While West Balboa has disappointed in all four starts this campaign, she cannot be entirely ruled out. Skelton has four other possibles among the entries.
