'Watching her made me really miss raceriding and she's overpriced' – Tom Scudamore joins the panel to assess the weekend racing

Who wins the Coral Gold Cup (3.00 Newbury)?

Pat Cooney, bet365 I’ll stick to the ‘second-season novices have the edge’ theory. This certainly gives you many of the main players in the market, but also includes Horantzau D’Airy for Willie Mullins, who brings two solid recent runs to the table. It is not often one of this stable’s runners can be viewed as value at current odds, but he does seem overpriced.

James Hill, tipster It looks a below-par running this time and it could therefore be worth paying attention to the older horses more than usual. Midnight River was well fancied for last year’s race and was still travelling nicely when coming down at the 14th. He’s 5lb lower now and his best form is as good as any in this line-up. He can be fancied if the cheekpieces have a positive effect.

Richard Hoiles, ITV commentator Iron Bridge looks overpriced. He was placed off higher marks in some competitive handicaps last season and ran well enough on his return at Carlisle to put him right for this. Even more rain would have been in his favour, but he can still outrun his price.
