'She's in the form of her life and this is her time to shine' - David Egan and Adele Mulrennan join the panel for Champions Day

Whose side are you on in the Champion Stakes (3.55 Ascot)?

David Egan, jockey It’s a brilliant race on paper between two high-class horses with Los Angeles also thrown into the mix. I think Calandagan’s form is that bit stronger, and on another day he could even have beaten City Of Troy at York. He goes on the ground and looked very good in the King Edward VII at this track. Economics is very smart, but I’ll be siding with the French raider.

Adele Mulrennan, ITV Racing pundit You have to respect Calandagan's form, but he's a little bit short for me and Economics has been one of the horses of the season. William Haggas has done a great job placing him and there's a little question about the ground, but I loved what he did in Ireland for the first time at this level when showing a great attitude to beat Auguste Rodin, who is a very good horse on his A-game.

John Priddey, Ladbrokes I think King's Gambit will run the race of his life. His Hampton Court run was a blinder in hindsight coming from so far back to split Jayarebe and Bellum Justum. He hasn't had the ideal set-up in any of his last three outings, but should find this much more suitable.
