'I think he has a massive chance' - Luke Morris and Nick Luck join our expert panel
The Ayr Gold Cup is Saturday's big betting race. Who wins it?
Nick Luck, Racing TV I'm going to go for Orazio. He's been pretty frustrating but hasn't really had that many races in recent months. His run in the Wokingham when he was unlucky was outstanding. He returns to a stiff six with a little bit of give in the ground, which should help him. I don't think he really stayed 7f last time. He can go very well after a break and a bit of Billy Loughnane magic might eke out a bit more from him.
Ryan McCue, Betfair A nice and easy race to start with! The last seven winners have all been drawn in double figures and I think it’s hard to keep Mostabshir out of the frame with the extra places on offer. He now has a feel for the pace of these races, having had his first start over this trip in the Stewards' Cup last time when finishing a very creditable fourth. I’m hoping he can go a few places better here.
Luke Morris, jockey I like Mostabshir for John and Thady Gosden. He looked like he was going to be a very talented horse last year and he seems to have found his niche in sprinting. He ran a very solid race in the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood when a strongly run 6f seemed to suit him well. Decent ground suits him and at the prices, I think he has a massive chance.
