'I can't believe he isn't favourite' - our expert panel assess the weekend racing

Five experts give their views on the key races and the best bets

Who wins the Veterans' Chase Series Final (3.00 Sandown)?

James Hill, tipster Sam Brown won this race last year when it was transferred to Warwick. He was racing off a mark of 147 that day but, with Chad Bament claiming 10lb here, he'll effectively be racing off 4lb lower. Sam Brown ran well at this track when sixth in the bet365 Gold Cup in April and his third place in the Charlie Hall in November was as good a run as he’s ever produced. If Bament can get the old boy going this time, he’ll have every chance.

Richard Hoiles, commentator I was never a fan of Copperhead in his younger days but there's no disputing his return to form and his great association with Freddie Gingell. His Sandown run in November was solid enough form and he ran well over a shorter trip at Cheltenham last time.

Andrew Tinkler, former jockey Joe Tizzard holds the aces at the top of the market but I’d be tempted to have a good look at Sam Brown. Anthony Honeyball has won the race twice and has this classy individual back at a track he likes. Young rider Chad Bament claims a valuable 10lb and should have a great spin around.
