Who are you with in the Herring Queen (3.00) at Kelso?

Pat Cooney, bet365 Surrey Belle has top weight but I still think she’s potentially better than her handicap mark of 121. She’s one of several here who like to go forward but she has won over 2m on the Flat, so the strong pace will suit. Adrian Keatley is a good target trainer and I'm sure this race has been on the radar for a while.

Alan Howes, commentator This looks to be seriously wide open and I’m drawn to the lightly raced Northern Air. The form of her Taunton win in January has worked out really well, with the third, fourth and fifth having won subsequently, and her handicap mark looks attractive. The main danger is handicap first-timer Surrey Belle, who has taken so well to hurdles and has the assistance of Brian Hughes.

Jonny Pearson, Racing Post Ratings Surrey Belle couldn’t have been more impressive when winning last time but the drop in trip doesn’t look to be a positive move and it might be worth siding with Game Colours, who relished the drop back to 2m when winning recently at Lingfield. She should go well under Tom Bellamy if she turns up in the same form.
