'Sandown should really play to his strengths' - our expert panel assess the weekend racing

Five experts give their views on the big races and the best bets

Is Jonbon beatable in the Tingle Creek (3.00 Sandown)?

Tom Bellamy, jockey No is the simple answer. Jonbon is well ahead on ratings and should win it again on everything he’s done. I expect him to put on another high-class display.

Olly Eden, Weekender deputy editor Probably not. He's won all four starts at Sandown, including this race last season. He was made to work harder than expected to land the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham on his return, but that track arguably doesn't see him to best effect and he's bound to improve bundles for the outing. Edwardstone, a fellow Sandown specialist, can chase him home.

Lizzie Kelly, ex-jockey and pundit Probably not. He’s the best horse in the race in theory and practice. I’d be very optimistic about Boothill after his run in the Shloer at Cheltenham. He’s got the world at his feet after the potential he showed there behind Jonbon.
