'He ran well in the Ebor and has the assistance of the world's best jockey' - Gay Kelleway and Tom Stanley join our expert panel

Who wins the Sprint Cup at Haydock?

Peter Donohoe, BoyleSports I’ll be sticking with Inisherin. He ran a little flat in the July Cup but was still only beaten less than three lengths. That was his fifth run of the season and fourth in ten weeks, so it may have been asking a shade too much in hindsight. He has had a break of 56 days since, has won at the track and handles any going. He deserves to be strong favourite.

James Hill, tipster I’m not sure the three-year-olds deserve to top this market after disappointing in the July Cup. Swingalong has twice gone close to landing Group 1s this year and would be a deserved winner, but the forgotten horse is Shouldvebeenaring. Beaten a neck in this event last year, he’ll be happier dropping back a furlong following his third in the City of York last time, while his best form over this trip is as good as any.

Gay Kelleway, trainer I reckon it could be won by a Yorkshire trainer, with the three-year-old Inisherin the most likely winner for Kevin Ryan after scoring at Royal Ascot. He also has winning form over course and distance on soft ground from the Sandy Lane.
